Digital Content Assistant

Position: Digital Content Assistant - CAFE (NY)

As the humor brand CAFE prepares for major expansion in 2018, we’re seeking a digital content assistant to work closely with senior staff to support social media and web production, and perform administrative tasks as needed. The position will be based in the New York office and include duties like content tagging, writing SRTs (video captions for Facebook), scheduling and posting content, and special projects as needed.

The ideal candidate would have a thirst for news, media and comedy -- and stay in the know on what’s trending. This position would be perfect for someone wanting to get into digital media, or a recent graduate hungry for a dynamic work experience. Bring your enthusiasm and sense of humor!


  • Manage content tagging database
  • Search for relevant stories and headlines for content creators to post on
  • Complete subtitles and video captions (SRTs) for all incoming videos to be posted to Facebook
  • Provide assistance with content publishing across platforms and asset management
  • Provide editing assistance for video team as needed (i.e. finding stock images, searching for video files, etc)

A successful candidate should satisfy the following criteria:

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of social media best practices (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube)
  • Avid news-checker who can bring headlines of interest to the table daily
  • Ability to work from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. ET each weeknight, with the possibility of occasional nighttime and weekend availability for breaking news, etc.
  • Multi-task and work effectively under quick turnaround deadlines
  • A fun, flexible nature and agility to adapt as we grow the operation


  • Proven ability in digital media, and strong interest in digital media and production
  • Experience working in team collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, Basecamp, AirTable)
  • Some experience editing video and graphics
  • Administrative experience a plus - must be well-organized
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, Illustrator, Premier) a plus
