Some Spider is a new digital media entertainment company financed by serial entrepreneurs, Vinit Bharara and Marc Lore, who previously co-founded and later sold Diapers.com to Amazon. Vinit is the CEO of Some Spider. Other Some Spider executives include COO, Paul Smurl, former Head of Digital at the New York Times and CRO, Sharon Mussalli, former Entertainment Industry Manager at Facebook.

Some Spider’s mission is to create iconic entertainment “channels” for the new digital, mobile and social cable dials. We’re home to two channels: Scary Mommy (the biggest parenting property in the country, reaching over 100 million people each month), and CAFE (2016's breakout news and humor brand, reaching over 60 million people each month). And we plan to launch more.

About the Role:

Built for the social, mobile millennial mom, Scary Mommy is redefining marketing to moms with the most social, shared parenting content online. Hilarious, honest and heartfelt, Scary Mommy is a celebration of imperfect parenting that connects with the modern mom.

Scary Mommy is looking for an experienced operations ninja to oversee planning and execution of our distinct brand of sponsored content to national marketers. We are the best at telling brands’ stories across distributed platforms – in all media formats – to connect with and mobilize moms on mobile and social.

The ideal candidate has amazing customer service and is a team player.  She or he is always on top of many moving parts in a fast moving process.  Our ops ninja has a passion for advertising, entertainment, mobile and social.

Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Develop media plans in partnership with sales executives.
  • Participation in implementation of advertising measurement studies.
  • Ensure all components of media campaign execute flawlessly through partnership with XFN colleagues such as content studio, editorial staff, etc.
  • Work as liaison between client/agency and in-house content studio on branded content story ideas ironing out scripts, casting, concepts, and post-production so as to develop best-in-class branded content.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in digital media space
  • Experience with the industry or business trends in the industry (Direct Response marketing, data and technology solutions, ad-tech, partnerships, CRM)
  • Experience working effectively with XFN teams and all levels of management (internally and externally)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining strict attention to details
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate and work effectively on a team
  • Understanding of major advertising success metrics
  • Avid knowledge of competitive set
  • Extensive experience as a Facebook user and familiarity with Facebook’s ad products
